I cant stop listening to this album, literally. The casette tape is stuck in the player and MJ Lenderman keeps threatening to throw me in the himbo dome if i turn it off.
As a midwesterner and a Jason Molina obsessive I think the comparisons are maybe a little much (I'm sure he's an influence! They're just very different writers) but I like the record and I'm glad to finally check him out after enjoying his contributions on that latest Waxahatchee album. Lenderman es una de las partes de Wednesday, una banda que el año pasado se marcó uno de los mejores discos que yo tuve la suerte de escuchar: Rat Saw God. En su propuesta, mezclan la americana que nos viene matizada por Wilco, Jason Molina, Neutral Milk Hotel y esa generación que se maravilló con el folk de Estados Unidos, pero le añaden una serie de referentes que hacen que todo el conjunto se transforme en otra cosa completamente diferente.
