Look I don’t really know how to review jazz, but this whips ass.

Holy shit did I hate this album. Normally, when I don’t like something, I’ll just turn it off. But I didn’t like this SO MUCH that I listened to the whole goddamn thing just so I could give it an appropriate thrashing. It was a war of attrition between the unbreathable fumes of hair metal and the most rancid expulsions of butt rock. I mean none of that in the most remote good way. Probably the most well known and loved Maiden album, and for good reason. It’s not my personal favorite, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t completely fuck.

This album completely whips ass. Pipin hot crunch riff supreme from some of the best in the game right now. My only complaint is the jazzy and proggy bits seem to bleed over and blur the line with the Dream Unending project, which completely whips ass in its own way, but I guess I just like the separation of the two so I opted to be a dick about it.

We get it, Matt, ya got plenty of free time and a bag full of riffs your other bands didn’t wanna play, so we’re here now with a handful of your other friends. They’re good enough to get by. Scratches an itch that Matt Pike definitely gave you.

I wanna call it “stoner rock” but that doesn’t FEEL enough. I wanna call it “desert rock”, but I still don’t think that’s right. This album is absolutely jam packed with high flyin riffs and just the goddamn catchiest hooks you wanna sing along to screamin down the interstate playing air guitar and grabbin gears. This album has a road soda and a suspended drivers license.

This is death metal well done. Good enough production to feel clean while a bit raw, but definitely not overly polished or derivative. A meat grinder of riffs full of shredded entrails and crushed bones.
