i never thought i would say thank you jack antonoff but... thankyoujackantonoff (pls learn from this). a fun, cute, end of summer pop album - shout out to that one tweet that said nobody else is pop starring like ms carpenter bc they were right!!! i actually enjoyed that this was all over the place genre-wise because it feels like they had fun making it, and i had fun listening!! (thank u for some great music videos too)
There’s a lot to love on Sabrina Carpenter'sShort n’ Sweet, and a lot of the record falls into place beautifully.
Carefully moving between distinct moods, the balance of the record is damn near perfect. There’s the goofy wittiness of Espresso, the vulnerability of Dumb & Poetic and the almost melodramatic romance show that’s on full display on cuts like Taste and Please Please Please. Carpenter expertly navigates the vibes, adjusting her energy and delivery to keep the record moving.

pretty solid follow up to emails I can’t send, I think she really has managed to brand herself around fun pop music and tongue in cheek lyrics. Compared to Jack Antonoff’s recent work I’d say this is a shining star for him
Really enjoyed the 80s influence mixed with the country / various areas within pop
I think this is her best yet (+ we mostly have the Jack Antonoff effect to thank for that) but still not very interesting, perhaps a little too all over the place w/ genre, and Juno is doing nothing to beat the straight people are weird as hell allegations.
