Demo quality production combined with some incredibly grating auto-tune.

Bloated and repetitive

Favorites are Brown Thumb, Scenic Route, and New Years Day.

One of the most consistent producers when it comes to chill deep-house. That being said Lane 8 still delivers so much passion in the music he creates. Another solid project from him even if he isn't switching up from his previous work much.

Major letdown. I don't take nearly as much issue as others have been with the use of AI vocals (you can tell it's still Dan underneath the effects), nor do I care about the merging of Caribou and Daphni in terms of vibe. The real issue to me is the lack of identity the second half of record brings, and how uninspired it all feels. It really misses the mark, and is such a bummer after a string of strong singles.

Surprisingly solid and concise for a compilation soundtrack. Some great highlights but also some throwaways.

Sadly, this might be their weakest record to date. Still, that's more a testament to the strength of their discography rather than a critique of this one.

They are improving with every release. Exciting to see what they do in the future.

Pure genius. The Broadway adaption did it justice as well.

Overly sanitized and repetitive

Dave does realize other melodies do exist right? RIGHT????

Some great moments, but overall too much of the same. Still looking for the magic she was able to conjure with Rostam.

Those were my initial impressions but after more listens it's really starting to grow on me more.

Compared to his earlier 2024 release, this one is much more in the quantity over quality realm. Would be good for sleeping or doing something other than paying attention to the music.

Once again Crumb hasn't been able to capture the magic of their first EP into a full length project. Still an enjoyable listen, but not much to revisit.

Locked in

Another solid release from the Lemon Twigs. After Everything Harmony, they again find themselves wearing their influences on their sleeves. Unfortunately, this time around I don't think it fit them as well. These dudes still know how to craft a tasty harmony though.

Shoegaze perfection. My favorite album by Alvvays and my favorite album of 2022.

Simple, but love the consistent hallow, spacey, and melancholy production. His most focused effort to date.

As far as soul goes this is certainly essential. Unfortunately soul isn't my cup of tea.

For the Beach Boys standards, there isn't much on this album to write home about. Regardless, even their worst is still an enjoyable listen. And hey, even if you didn't like it, it's over before you even realize it.

Amazing. This album sounds like what being a kid feels like. Wake up is a top 5 song of my childhood.
