Amerta - Nodus Tollens
Eclectic sludge metal with refreshing takes that still true to the music style
-
90s/2000s nostalgia act done right: keeping what's good without being restricted to it
-
-
A more composed effort with an extraordinary result by the band. Although the ferociousness is evidently toned down, it is not missed at all.
-
A trip hop record with Chelsea Wolfe on vocals? Count me in

Each song is disparate to each other in a good way. It's an album that keeps me interested and invested with the band. Curious how's the next album going to be.
-
The album keeps its entertaining value until the very end regardless of its 1 hour-ish duration with intense technical prowess
-
This album really relates to me both lyrically and musically. Mostly written from a feminine perspective, the lyrics are straight forward with just enough wits. Then it is packaged with a music that is subtly complex, eclectic, and not overstimulating. Really needed that calm vibes as 2024 was chaotic

KOL always have a soft spot to me and this album is a solid effort in the right direction
-
Yogyakarta's Prog Pop Rock legends returns and signifying that they are not losing their teeth in lyrics and musical arrangements department
-
I'm a sucker for tasteful drumming. This album made drums the centre piece and not in a flashy and predictable way.
-
A tasteful and refreshing take on pop music. Full of mundane yet catchy Indonesian lyrics that might felt cringe at first but works really well.

Before this album, I could not made sense of Senyawa no matter how hard I try. It's fair to say that listening this album is quite a spiritual and reflective journey. Needless to say, the temple that was built to accompany this album showed how an artwork's ambition can transcend beyond aesthetics.

It's a love it or hate it album. The songs are loose but performed tightly. A challenging cacophony that shouldn't work in theory but somehow works. Imagine Nina Simone practices singing while a guitarist is twiddling aimlessly in the back with a post punk drummer that is trying to find a good beat.

Loved it when a legacy act still makes beautiful and relevant music in their own way without trying too hard to follow the trends. Even though this album is gloomy, it somehow made me hopeful about being old
