Devin Townsend is one of those artists I will always drop everything to listen to when a new release hits, but I think since 2019's "Empath," Devin hasn't quite managed to put out a record that has hit the same heights. PowerNerd is good, but it kind of feels like a slightly less interesting version of what the later Devin Townsend Project records were doing (specifically the last two: Sky Blue and Transcendence). He is apparently setting the stage for a much bigger project to come, so we shall see what the future holds.
