Don't let the first two tracks fool you, because after a hot start that feels reminiscent of their french disco and electropop roots, the band reverts back to their comfortable sound as a slightly dancier Khruangbin or less rocky Parcels. With some smooth jams interspersed with quality features from Flatbush Zombies' Erick the Architect or Maggie Rogers, about half of this record will fade into the background of their discography and overall aesthetic.

Estupendo disco de pop de Yea-Ming, acercándose al indie de finales de los 80 y principios de los 90. Ella habla mucho de Camera Obscura y de Yo La Tengo pero a mí la verdad es que me recuerda más a Tiger Trap, Softies y demás grupos de la galaxia de Rose Melberg y compañía.

Lo he escuchado bastante antes de escribir algo porque no quería sobrerreaccionar, pero, copón, Beth, vaya preciosidad de disco.

En su momento no le hice mucho caso por el tema de Robert, la luz en el horizonte y la creatividad esquiva. Sin embargo, unos años después me lo puse y, resulta que, si bien no a la altura de sus obras mayores, es un disco disfrutable y con un mood muy concreto que empapa todas las canciones.

Tiene cositas, a medio camino entre Marco Z y Frank Turner. Hay una generación que bebió del pop-punk de los 200x y encontró en lo bedroom la manera de dar forma, sin sacrificar calidad, a su rollo construyendo un público desde abajo en las redes. No está mal y es probable que acabe estando mejor.

I believe it takes a good artisan to make something in the style of somebody else and get very close to it, but it takes a great one to go beyond that and turn all your influences into something new and fresh.

Kaytranada seems to be able to pull ideas and inspiration from about every corner of the last 50 years of r&b and still push it way forward into the future.

Masterful album, covering an expansive territory from jazz to deep ambient synth but still painting a cohesive picture. Love pretty much everything about this from the great cover art to the beautiful harp tones throughout.

Lorde's third album, Solar Power, is a poignant portrayal of her healing process, emphasizing that healing is not a linear journey but rather a cyclical one, with highs and lows, much like the album's arrangement and lyrical content. Lorde has evolved from the angst and rush of Pure Heroine and Melodrama, as she's no longer the same person she was during those eras. Healing doesn't always equate to happiness, and Solar Power successfully captures this truth. The album is reflective, gentle, patient, and bathed in a warm, golden hue – it's real and authentic.

The lyrics "Now if you're looking for a savior, well that's not me / You need someone to take your pain for you? / Well, that's not me" resonate… More

Saw some Pinkerton discourse on the TL so I had to revisit this stone cold CLASSIC. Went platinum in my CD player in high school forsuuure. I get why people don't like Rivers though. This shit is more honesty from a nerd than the world ever asked for. Like a diary you wouldn't want to read back to yourself and yet this motherfucker threw it on wax?? A god for over sharers everywhere. Just a stunning feat of shamelessness. Tapped into the human condition type shit. But yeah if I saw his asthmatic ass in the hallway I'd probably toss that bitch into a locker too. Anyway, 10/10, top 5 contender, formative, best Weezer album, etc.

It was all very OK. I miss the days of Once through her DJ Kicks mix, instead of this poppier sound that is quickly becoming the new big room. That said, the beats were slick and everything flowed well.

Horrorcore will never die, but you will

Seguro que fue más divertido de grabar que de escuchar pero se entiende que esto sea lo primero que te sale después de 13 años. Se deja oir bien de fondo, con curiosidad de ver cómo lo lleva al directo para que no nos entre la modorra. Lo mejor, los títulos de las canciones.

It is a mystery to me how one of the most outstanding DJ producers of contemporary times is undervalued in such a systematic way. KAYTRANADA's work is cult, and TIMELESS is the most recent stone in an impeccable sonic cathedral.

Apaga la luz y sube el volumen.

Me gustó bastante en la primera escucha, mucho en la segunda y más que mucho en la tercera. Me gusta que no sea un disco continuista sin más, ni un envoltorio para sólo tres o cuatro hits, sino que tiene un sonido reconocible de principio a fin, que además no es igual a los discos anteriores. Me parece más sólido y probablemente más duradero.

No es un pelotazo para bailar, no va a tener la canción del verano, y en parte por eso me parece más un disco de música electrónica que de pop.

Dicho esto, Club classics y Rewind me parecen la bomba, y de las otras tres canciones extra, también Spring breakers.

This turned 15 yesterday. One of the greatest albums from a great period in American music. (The follow-up is equally as great imo.)

Pretty boring. Except naming a 35 second track Think of the royalties, lads.

David Pajo (Slint, Tortoise, Zwan, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc.) is always out there looking for something, like a fisherman's boat navigating in the dark. Normally he just fish for its own consumption, but sometimes he get a piece big enough to sell it to others. In this case it's the 9th song of the album: 'Let It Be Me'.

Soul Coughing was tagged as a "novelty act" in the 90's along with other bands. Eff that.

Their 3 album run was full of the most imaginative and unique stuff to come up from that decade. The drummer slaps on this one.

Hoxe detesto o canon no que se sustenta. Detesto o barroquismo e a grandilocuencia impostadas. Detesto mil e unha cousas que me poderían levar a odiar este álbum.
