    Light, Dark, Light Again is full of fears and doubts. Even if the songs are deeply personal, it's easy to feel empathy, connect, and relate. But there is also the determination not to be overwhelmed, not to be defined by one's weakest and darkest moments but by the ability of perseverance.

    In today's all-encompassing uncertainty and unhinged speed of change, Angie McMahon extends a soothing invitation for reflection. We deserve it, maybe even need it.

    With Songs of Homecoming, The Beauty of Gemina are about to release their 10th studio album. It is an intimate record featuring well-rounded compositions that bridge the band’s early dark, electronically driven gestures and the playful acoustic nuances from recent years.

    Songs of Homecoming has the character and sound of a retrospective. The early electronic darkness finds its place in songs like Whispers Of The Seasons or Countless (There’s No Home)—completing the throwback with repetitive, even monotonous lyrics. But also the blues and folk influences of recent get to spread their wings: I Call You The Sun is a melancholic ballad, and Sleeping Song features a cool groove.

    A heavy thing, but also a thing of beauty. This record conjures memories of previous works like Bloodflowers—slow, dragging, and full of melancholic despair and decay.

    Maybe not the easiest way to enter The Cure‘s sonic universe, but once you‘re in, you will appreciate these epic and winding tracks even more.
