Mighty fine new pop. Reminds me of Kate Bush vocally and Alvvays musically. "My Name Is Dancing" has got a bit of a Phoenix vibe with strongly percussive bass. "Escaper" is a triumphant, well-arranged conclusion to the album. Excited to see where Kinsley's career takes her.

it's weird that this isn't a beloved Dylan album. I guess the Budokan type Dylan, the Neil Diamond and Van Morrison 70s Dylan, isn't very popular, because it's not folky nor merely electric nor transcendent, it's big and bold and obvious. These background vocals ("New Pony") are lovely, "Baby Stop Crying" is just as hooky and good as "Lay Lady Lay," "True Love Tends to Forget" could slide in on "Blood on the Tracks."

Some folks hear Dylan, Colin Meloy, Dan Bejar sing, and they think "is that a bit?" I never did. It's a unique timbre. If you don't like it I can't convince you you should. I like it.

I was ready to snarkily say "more like Neils" because of how Youngish this one starts out, but boy, "It's All the Same" to "Midnight Man" are a couple highlights among the first three albums. "Midnight Man" sounds like a fantastic Big Star song.

"White Man/Black Man" not so good.
