Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock have been treasured favorites of mine for years. I admit, however, never liking Mark Hollis' final solo album much. Perhaps its volume made it feel too too slow for me, almost as if it was too shy to express itself. It just didn't resonate much with me after several listens over the years.
2024 finds me in the Polish autumn, the cold breeze of November comes through the window while the leaves all over the place, this eases me in for a completely different experience. How could I not fully appreciate this sublime work of woodwind arrangements and its beautiful whispering vocals? Absolutely captivating.
