This record is dear to me—it sets the standard for, in my opinion, house as a genre. Plucking at a fairly straightforward sample, Song for Annie effectively stretches a loop from The Crusaders - Sweet N Sour into an 8 minute jam that doesn't lose pace or dull the senses. Few songs can evoke the feeling of "calm night air on sweaty skin" as well as this can.
It is unfortunate that Erot passed away so young, and that we weren't able to see him rise as an artist. We are lucky to be blessed with what little we do have in this life and this reminder that life together is precious.
