I did not get their debut album at all or the hype surrounding it. I don't know if I get it now either, but I certainly like this one better. Maybe they have changed their sound, or maybe it's me catching up. 😂
This one is really growing on me! There's something understated yet very gripping about the way the songs are arranged and a somewhat ethereal atmosphere that makes me want to listen to the album over and over again.
I think this album is a lyrical tour de force. I just love how Kacey Musgraves talks about heartache, self-discovery and resilience without it ever feeling preachy or cheesy. I mean, this line right here: "Sailor Moon's got nothing on me", it's pure pop perfection.
Mikko Joensuu's new album is a captivating journey through introspective lyrics and haunting melodies. The soulful vocals and atmospheric instrumentation are perfect for this kind of melancholic and grandly orchestrated indiepop. Finnish music doesn't get any better than this.
If you're expecting for some new BOC music, this one it's the best choice waiting for new Sandinson brothers material! :) Check his previous albums MPU101, 102 and 103! Great stuff!
SPRINTSkicked off the year in a big way with the bulldozer 'Letters To Self'. In the quieter parts, the sound is sometimes reminiscent of PJ Harvey's classic 'Rid of Me', but when the tempo is cranked up, it brings to mind contemporary post/pop punk bands like Savages and Mannequin Pussy.
