The growing up listening to The Chicks in the back of ur moms minivan to stanning Waxahatchee pipeline is alive and well. Full of passion, twang, and Katie’s unparalleled voice.

Warm. Intimate. Emotional. Songs that sound like they’ve existed forever. A total powerhouse of a lyricist.

An ever so slight step down from Saint Cloud, but Katie Crutchfield continues to build upon her discography with some of the best songwriting today.

Favorite Track: Bored

Not the biggest americana/indie country vibe but I couldn't draw my ears away. Unbelievable songwriting that's a level up from Saint Cloud. Realistically high 8/10 and will likely end up in my year-end list.

Partly americana, party indie rock, Katie Crutchfield continues her road trip towards the absolute top. On the sixth album as Waxahatchee, she enlists MJ Lenderman - which is a true match made in heaven. Rarely has the collaborative work of two major talents sounded this good, as underscored by the duet "Right Back To It".

"But you just settle in
Like a song with no end"

Right Back to It is beautiful. The rest of the album is super consistent, and I do love her, but this doesn't evoke the same feelings as Saint Cloud. That was such a moment in time and this feels like less of an impact overall.

on the whole, doesn't live up to my expectations after how great 'saint cloud' was, but still a great modern americana album.
