I'll admit I had kind of forgotten about this band until this album came up on shuffle but was hit like a punch in the gut by the singer, Kristine Leschper's, voice. The emotional weight her voice carries is just unreal—so much longing, so much heart break, so close to breaking. Unambiguously, it is the driving force of this album but the orchestration around it suits it perfectly. The strings, the gentle snare, the reverb-y guitars punctuate as needed and then fade back. Great album
