I really wanted to like this album because I loved most of his work so much—and I don’t like saying this about music normally, but most songs feel more or less like the same. It’s Finneas of course, but too much of the same Finneas—for what I know he is capable of.
Some lovely lyrics in between, and some surprises like the second half of “Sweet Cherries” still make this a good listen. “For Cryin’ Out Loud!”, “Family Feud” and “Little Window” give it a special twist, after all.
And, who knows, perhaps I’ll adjust my rating over time. Music tends to get better the more you listen to it (except for “Last Christmas” perhaps)… More
